Curriculum
Each morning begins with a two hour guided class of hatha or vinyasa yoga.
Each class includes pranayama and meditation, options for beginner and intermediate levels, hands on adjustments, and a follow up feedback session.
21 day and Intermediate courses will explore more advanced poses and include specialized themes like chakra awakening, trauma release, advanced transitions, creative sequencing and much more.
Prana – breath, Yama – control – in accordance with the great yogis, breath equals to energy flow.
Every morning will begin with pranayama classes, where you will have the chance to get grounded, look inwards and set intention and energy for the day ahead. You will practice your breath and gain conscious awareness of your body.
In this class you will learn and practice:
- Yogic breathing
- Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing)
- Bhramari (humming bee breath)
- Ujjayi (the psychic or victorious breath)
- Bhastrika (bellows breath)
- Kapalbhati (frontal brain cleansing breath)
Learn correct alignment, technique, variations for different levels, and modifications with props.
- You also learn to connect poses with breath and movement to build creative vinyasa flow sequences.
- Level 2 Intermediate Asana Lab re-examine the roots of asana form and function on a much deeper level by integrating their energetic and biomechanic components to improve alignment and technique.
You also explore advanced asanas and study the prerequisite steps to achieve them safely over time through deeper breath awareness, bandha engagement and mastery of foundational equivalents.
HALKA Yoga is very proud of having a high success rate of producing quality vinyasa yoga instructors who get jobs soon after completing their training.
Practice teaching everyday to gain confidence.
- Learn teaching skills, teaching methodology and class design.
- Teach a 75min class every week and receive detailed feedback to grow and develop professionally.
21 day and Intermediate students, plus those who already have teaching experience, will challenge themselves further by designing special workshops and thematic group classes.
We will travel back in time to India and dive deep into the origins of yoga and how it reached today’s modern form. Focusing on philosophical concepts, you will learn how to adapt and apply them to our modern lives. These lessons are held in a conversational format, which enables students to actively engage and explore meanings through their own vision and stories.
